Fighting Back To Computer Viruses By Paul I. Etkin PCs and Macs are without a doubt great entertainment. But, they're much more than that. For example, how many times a day do you use yours? For me it's probably close to a dozen. Of course there is the little fact that I work on mine. Then again, who doesn't work on their personal to some extent? I'll bet you check the bank account. I'll bet you even get online once or twice a month to pay bills. Not to mention all the times you check your inbox for new messages. What I'm getting at is computers have become such a crucial part of our routine lives. They're not just there for amusing web surfing and chat rooms. That being said; how well would you function without yours for a week, or even a day? This could be a shock to the system. Let me tell you, nasty viruses could make this a reality. In fact, they can even shut down your system for good.
I noticed something when I purchased a Mac G4 IBook. Suddenly there were no more pop-ups. Now, I know what you may be thinking. Your PC has a pop-up blocker on the browser as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I hear you, because my IBM has one too. Unfortunately it still fails to block ALL pop-ups. There are still some that slip through the cracks. This is annoying with a capital A. I don't ever want to see a pop-up when I'm online. This is why I mostly use my
Mac instead. Furthermore, there are no viruses slipping in with my Mac. Now, I would commend my PC in the same way, but I can't. On occasion there are computer viruses popping up. It's all great that they go into quarantine and try to get cleaned up. But, isn't it even better to not get any at all? I'm thinking yes! What irksome viruses are you grappling with these days?
There are a number of software programs you can acquire now days to fight back the viruses galore. I have Symantec Antivirus on my PC and it seems to be fairly effective. Again, I prefer the Mac, since there are none to deal with at all. Get online and see what trials are available. You can test some of these anti-virus programs for free. Banish those annoying viruses from your PC for good. Whatever you do, don't allow them to destroy your hard drive.
